Since Iran does not have an embassy in Canada, renewing an Iranian passport for Iranians residing in Canada is slightly more complex than in other countries. However, there is no need to worry, as there are various methods to accomplish this:<\/p>\n

1. Mikhak System + Sending Documents to the Canada Bureau (Dublin)<\/h2>\n

This system, the “Integrated Consular Services Management,” has been launched by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide consular services to Iranians abroad.<\/p>\n

You can register your passport renewal request by registering on the Mikhak system and uploading the required documents. Then, follow the subsequent steps outlined in the “Guide to Renewing Iranian Passports for Residents of Canada<\/a>” (such as identity verification, payment of fees, and obtaining a postal label).<\/p>\n

After reviewing the documents and approving the request, you can receive your new passport by mail.<\/p>\n

This method is the easiest and fastest way to renew an Iranian passport in Canada.<\/p>\n

2. Mikhak System + Sending Documents to the Iranian Interests Section in Washington<\/h2>\n

Since Iran does not have an embassy in Canada, the Iranian Interests Section at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington also handles consular affairs for Iranians residing in Canada.<\/p>\n

After completing the online application form on the Mikhak system, you can send the necessary documents to the Iranian Interests Section and receive the new passport by mail a few weeks later.<\/p>\n

3. In-Person Visit to the Iranian Interests Section in Washington<\/h2>\n

You can register your passport renewal request by visiting this office in person and submitting the required documents.<\/p>\n

This method is time-consuming and expensive because it requires travel to the United States. However, some steps are completed faster. If you plan to travel to Iran soon and do not have enough time to apply remotely, this method is suitable.<\/p>\n

Note: In cases where you urgently need to travel to Iran (e.g., birth of a child, death of parents, or other emergency reasons) and your previous passport is lost or expired, you can request a travel document. This document is only valid for a one-time trip to Iran, but its issuance is faster than issuing a passport. Some private companies in Canada offer Iranian passport renewal services.<\/p>\n
