If you intend to replace your driver’s license in Iran, this guide will assist you in the process. Please follow the steps below carefully:

Required Documents

  • Valid power of attorney
  • Eye examination certificate
  • Two recent passport-sized photos
  • Original or certified copy of national ID card and birth certificate
  • Receipt of fee payment

Driver’s License Replacement Steps

1. Power of Attorney

Ensure that your legal representative in Iran has a valid power of attorney to handle the driver’s license replacement procedures.

If you need to obtain a power of attorney, review the power of attorney application guide and deposit the power of attorney fee (20 Euros) into the designated bank account.

2. Eye Examination Certificate

Visit an optometry center in Canada and obtain an eye examination certificate.

Download the eye examination certificate form from the embassy’s website.

Scan the eye examination certificate and the payment receipt in good quality (preferably with CamScanner) and send them to the digital consular WhatsApp at 09108106635.

After the certificate is approved (with a 30 Euro fee), have it officially translated and provide it to the traffic police along with other documents.

3. Photo Verification

Your representative must take two recent passport-sized photos of you, your Canadian identification document, and a copy of your passport to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs service desk. (Photo verification fee: 6 Euros)

4. Identification Documents

Providing the original national ID card and birth certificate is essential for submitting documents to the traffic police.

If you do not have access to the original documents, certified copies can be obtained through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

To do this, enter the Mikhak system and in the civil registry services section, select the “Certified Copy” option.

Register each document (national ID card and birth certificate) separately in the name of the representation “Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Canada Headquarters”.

Select the “Delivery to another person” option and send the tracking code to the digital consular WhatsApp. (Certified copy fee for each document: 15 Euros)

5. Visit to the Traffic Police

Finally, your representative must visit Tehran’s “Shahrak Azmayesh” or the traffic police in provincial centers with all documents (power of attorney, eye examination certificate, verified photos, identification documents).
