To arrange and register a power of attorney (and review the list of required documents), Iranian residents of Canada can follow the steps outlined in the guide for arranging and issuing a power of attorney for Iranians residing in Canada. The process of issuing a power of attorney takes 2 to 5 business days. For this purpose, it is sufficient to act through the Canada headquarters in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or through the office of the Interests Section of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Washington, D.C. (located in the Embassy of Pakistan).

In this article, we review the most important reasons why Iranians living abroad may need a power of attorney.

  • The power of attorney can be temporary or permanent.
  • The power of attorney is invalidated upon the death of the principal or the attorney.
