Eligibility Conditions for Passport Renewal
- Minimum 3-Year Residency Abroad: Eligible individuals residing abroad must have resided outside Iran for at least three years to renew their passports.
- No Legal Restrictions on Exiting Iran: Individuals must have legal permission to exit Iran.
- Obtaining Necessary Authorization from the Conscription Organization: Individuals must obtain the necessary passport renewal authorization from the Conscription Organization.
- No Military Service Absence or Obtaining Temporary Exemption: Individuals must not have an unauthorized absence from military service or must have obtained a temporary exemption from military service.
- Providing Collateral: Individuals must provide collateral appropriate to their type of travel (academic, pilgrimage, leisure).
- Possession of Valid Identification Documents: Individuals must provide valid identification documents such as a passport and military service records.

Passport Renewal Process Through the Mikhak System
- Registration on the Mikhak System: First, enter the Mikhak system (mfa.gov.ir) and create a user account.
- Passport Renewal Application: After logging into your account, upload your personal information and required documents, such as the original birth certificate and national identity card.
- Obtaining a Tracking Code: After submitting your application, you will receive a tracking code for subsequent follow-ups.

- Student Individuals: Must provide a certificate of enrollment.

Special Considerations for Military Individuals and Military Retirees
- Military Individuals: Need to provide a written consent letter from their unit’s security department to renew their passports.
- Military Retirees: Military retirees who have retired less than 5 years ago also need a letter from their unit’s security department. Retirees with more than 5 years of retirement only need their retirees’ association card.
Extension of Special Exit Stamp for Eligible Individuals Abroad Until the End of 2027
All eligible Iranian individuals residing abroad who have resided abroad for at least three years can travel to Iran for three months, a maximum of twice a year, until March 19, 2027.
Issuing an exit permit for the first time in the passport of eligible individuals is subject to inquiry from the center.

Reminder
According to the Conscription Law, all eligible individuals who are 50 years old are exempt from military service, and their photo-bearing birth certificate serves as a military service exemption card.
All eligible individuals born between 1967 and 1975 are subject to the Supreme Leader’s amnesty and are not eligible for a special exit stamp.
The place of residence in the passports of applicants for a special exit stamp for eligible individuals must be outside Iran.
